At Yeedu, we believe that enterprise data governance should be powerful, secure, and effortless. Managing access across large-scale data environments shouldn’t require endless manual configurations, complicated tools, or time-consuming scripts.

That’s why we introduced the role-based access control (RBAC) dashboard — a smarter and more intuitive way for administrators to manage user permissions, monitor access, and maintain compliance seamlessly across every tenant, cluster, and workspace within the Yeedu ecosystem. This dashboard has been purpose-built to simplify access control management while maintaining enterprise-grade precision and scalability.

Access Governance Challenge

In today’s rapidly evolving data ecosystems, managing access control remains one of the most persistent and complex challenges faced by enterprises.

As organizations expand, the number of users, roles, and resources grows exponentially — and with that growth comes an increased likelihood of configuration errors, conflicting permissions, and governance inconsistencies.

In traditional systems, managing who has access to what can quickly spiral into chaos. Without a centralized governance layer, administrators can frequently encounter difficulties which leads to inefficiencies, compliance gaps, and even unintentional exposure of critical business assets. Recognizing these recurring challenges, Yeedu set out to build a simpler, smarter, and integrated solution — one that embeds data governance best practices into the platform’s very foundation instead of treating it as an afterthought.

The Solution - Yeedu’s Role-Based Dashboard

The role-based access control dashboard in Yeedu delivers a unified and interactive experience for administrators to manage access multi-tenant access control across the enterprise architecture.

By consolidating all access-related information — including users, roles, clusters, and workspaces — into a single, visually organized interface, it transforms traditional permission management into a clear, data-driven, and highly actionable process.

With just a few clicks, administrators can review role hierarchies, audit access scopes, and modify permissions instantly — without depending on external tools or complex configuration scripts. This intuitive interface not only saves time but also ensures that every change made is synchronized and traceable, strengthening both security and accountability across the organization.

Comprehensive Role Overview

The data governance dashboard provides administrators with a complete, real-time snapshot of Yeedu’s access hierarchy. It centralizes visibility across tenants, clusters, and workspaces, giving administrators the clarity needed to understand how permissions are distributed and where governance adjustments might be required.

From one consolidated view, administrators can explore all predefined roles — such as Platform Admins, Tenant Admins, Cluster Managers, and Workspace Users — along with essential contextual information such as:

  • The number of users assigned to each role.
  • The scope of access each role controls.
  • The number of users who have access to a specific workspace.

This unified visibility enables more effective user permissions management, helping administrators quickly evaluate access landscapes, identify redundant or missing permissions, and make informed governance decisions — all without switching modules or relying on manual reports.

User and Group Management

The role-based access control dashboard introduces flexible features for managing users and groups, designed to simplify administrative workflows across distributed teams and large enterprise environments.

Assign Roles to Individual Users or Groups

Administrators can assign roles directly to individual users or user groups using the Yeedu UI. To begin, navigate to Yeedu → Access Management, where all users, groups, and their associated roles are displayed in a single, centralized location.

Within the Access Management section, Yeedu provides dedicated tabs for managing different role categories — such as Platform Admin Roles and Tenant Roles. Each tab enables administrators to control access precisely at the required hierarchy level:

  • Under Platform Admin, administrators manage platform-wide permissions.
  • Under Tenant Roles, administrators control access within a specific tenant. Yeedu supports multiple tenant-level roles, including:
  • Admin – Full access to manage clusters, workspaces, and users within the tenant.
  • Manage Cluster – Permissions limited to cluster-level operations.
  • User – Standard access to assigned workspaces, notebooks, and jobs.

To assign a role, the administrator navigates to the relevant tab (Platform Admin or Tenant Roles), selects the user(s) or group(s) requiring access, and saves the changes. Once confirmed, the role assignment is applied immediately, and permissions are updated across the platform without delay reinforcing consistent multi-tenant access control.

This streamlined, click-based workflow makes it effortless for administrators to grant, modify, or revoke roles while maintaining consistent access control management across the Yeedu ecosystem.

Dynamic Role Synchronization

Yeedu’s data governance dashboard ensures that all role assignments remain accurate and up to date through automatic synchronization.

When a user is added to or removed from a group, their corresponding permissions are immediately updated to reflect the change. This real-time synchronization prevents unauthorized access, eliminates outdated or orphaned permissions, and ensures that the access model always aligns with the latest organizational structure.

This automation is a core principle of modern role-based access control systems, ensuring permissions remain clean, intentional, and compliant.

Governance Made Simple

By integrating user and group management directly into the Role Overview, Yeedu ensures that access control remains both granular and scalable. Administrators can:

  • Instantly add, modify, or revoke access without relying on external tools.
  • Assign multiple roles to a single user if their responsibilities span multiple modules.
  • Use search and filter capabilities to quickly locate specific users, groups, or workspaces.

This unified governance model enhances security, efficiency, and transparency, while dramatically reducing administrative effort. It also accelerates onboarding, role transitions, and audit readiness, ensuring Yeedu’s access control framework stays dynamic, compliant, and effortless to manage — no matter how large the organization grows.
